Finding God

In June, we are in a series about Finding God in Film and Literature.  We want to know where you have seen God in the world lately? Especially what movie have you seen or book you have read where you felt a God connection. Post your reviews at peacepods.blogspot.com and we'll be on our way to collecting a great summer viewing and reading list!

Don't forget the summer worship schedule:
  • Saturday at 5:00pm
  • Sunday at 9:30am

Summer BLAST!

Blessed to be Loving and Serving Together
We invite you to have a BLAST with us this summer - we believe that we are Blessed to be Loving and Serving Together! This summer our mission focuses on fellowship and service, and we hope to provide you with opportunities to make new friends and be the arms of love, while we serve our local and global communities together.

Each week we'll highlight a few fellowship and service opportunities.  This week we want to highlight our Adult Fellowship and Learning opportunites.

Coffee Hour - Now that we've combined our two services on Sunday for the summer, we want to take this opportunity to get to know each other better. Coffee hour will be happening after the 9:30 worship service. If you are able to provide help during the coffee hour, sign up on the easel in the Narthex or call the church office at 978-4357.

Older Adult Ministry Book Group - The Older Adult Ministry team invites you into a conversation and Book Study/Bible Study as we discern how to proceed with this team. Join us as we study the book, Senior Adult Ministry in the 21st Century by Dr. David P. Gallagher. Over one quarter of Americans are age fifty or older. This sizable group has unique needs and requires specialized ministry. In this resource, Dr. David Gallagher offers invaluable insights, practical ideas, and successful strategies for ministering effectively to people over 50.
When:  Sundays - June 28, July 13, and July 26th from 10:30-Noon
Where:  Fellowship Hall
Contact:  Diane Strait, Dlstrait@aol.com or 973-2656

Church Ladies  - This group provides both Bible Study and an opportunity for fellowship. Participants include members and friends of the church from a broad cross section of different walks of life and age groups. We usually have between 10-20 women at our meetings, and our studies are designed so that you are welcome to attend as your schedule permits. In June, this group will begin a study on the book, Velvet Elvis, by Rob Bell.

Have you registered your child yet?  Have you told your family, friends and neighbors about this awesome experience?  Don't put it off any longer.  We really need to get those registrations in, so we can plan for providing everyone with a SUPER experience.   You can print out a registration form and mail or bring to Peace.  Find more information about VBS at plcvbs.blogspot.com.

Adult Learning Opportunity during VBS!
Do you feel snowed under and maxed out? In our culture, many people spend, acquire, and try to squeeze as much out of life as they can---and end up feeling empty in the process.

Each evening, as the children go off to their activities, adults will be using a DVD curriculum by Rev. Andy Stanley called Take it to the Limit, as we examine how we can pull back from the edge and learn to strike a balance by showing us how to do less, not more. This class will be led by Russ Melton and Jenny Cudahy.

The sessions include:
·  Less Is More
·  Downtime
·  Quality vs. Quantity
·  Reordering Your Finances
·  A Time to Run
·  Finding Professional Margin
