Did you know Pastor John will be taking a sabbatical this summer? Do you wonder what that's all about? We'll use this space over the next few weeks to fill you in on the details.
What's a sabbatical?
"A pastor sabbatical is simply a period of rest. However, this sabbath rest is much more than vacation. It is rest with a purpose."
What's Pastor John doing on his Sabbatical?
On June 1, Pastor John will begin a 14 week sabbatical, devoted to the 3 R's: reading, renewal, and refreshment. Pastor John will be participating in three Doctor of Ministry courses, one course each month of the summer. The renewal and refreshment will come as he steps away from congregational ministry responsibilities, enjoys a slower pace, and participates in some spiritual growth opportunities.
Next week we'll fill you in on the substitute pastors who will be here this summer.

| Youth Ministry Leader Position |

With Sarah Krell's imminent move to Michigan, Peace will be looking for a new youth ministry leader. If you are interested, please request a job description from Pastor John or Jenny Cudahy. Interviews for the position will begin the week of May 10.

FaithWalk
|
On Wednesdays in May we will have our FaithWalk course for new attendees and people wishing to know more about Peace Lutheran Church. If you are interesting in knowing more about Peace Lutheran Church, you can sign up for the FaithWalk course using the "Green Sheet" insert.

On Sunday, Mary 24th at 9:45am, Pastor John will lead a discussion of the ELCA Task Force on Human Sexuality's Report and Recommendations. You can find the statement and recommendations at the ELCA website (elca.org) |
| Annual Meeting and End of Sunday School Picnic |
| Please join us for our Annual Congregational Meeting on Sunday, May 17th at 9:45am.
May 17th is also our last day of Sunday School, and we will celebrate with a potluck picnic and ice cream social at 12:15pm. Mark your calendars now!
