Walking Wet
|
Go therefore ... ... into all the world. So I send you ... ... to the ends of the earth.
Walking wet from the waters of baptism, we are sent by God on a mission to serve all people following the example of Jesus, and to strive for peace and justice in all the earth.

Be Our Guest

Third Sunday Potluck Lunch (sort of a potluck)
We are launching a new opportunity for sharing a meal and fellowship on
Sundays. Each third Sunday of the month, there will be a potluck lunch
following the 11:00am service (about 12:15pm). For the kick-off of
this event, we'll provide the main course. If you can bring a side
dish or dessert, that would be great.
When: Sunday, February 15 at 12:15pm
Shrove Tuesday Pancake Dinner Please join us and bring your friends and their friends to our annual Shrove Tuesday Pancake Dinner. We'll have all your breakfast favorites for dinner! When: Tuesday, February 24, 5:30-7:00pm
Saturday March Potluck Dinner (not a potluck) Be our guest, be our guest...the Senior High Youth will be serving you a delicious spaghetti dinner as a fundraiser for the Synod youth-to-youth project. This year's project is the Rwanda School Project. Youth across the Synod are raising $36,000 to fund one classroom in the building. Look for our display in the lobby for more information. (Free will donation for dinner) When: Saturday, March 7 at 6:15pm

| What is the Ministry Fair?
|
Glad you asked. What other burning questions do you have? Here are some others we've heard?
"What's involved in Wednesday Prayers at noon? Do I have to pray in front of for a bunch of people?"
"I keep hearing about serving others, I'm just not sure how I can do it."
"I have an afternoon a week that I can give to keep the church looking good. I just don't know who to ask."
At the Ministry Fair, we want to answer these and many more questions about what's going on at Peace. We also hope this will be a time of connecting or re-connecting with one another. So please plan to attend and get some answers with no strings attached!
When: Saturday evening, March 7 following the Pot Luck dinner, or on Sunday
morning, March 8, at 9:45.

IMPACT
|
'Tis the Season for IMPACT It's getting to be that time of (the
IMPACT) year again - as we ramp up for the Nehemiah Action on March 30
at 6:15pm at U-Hall. We've recently seen the results of the Joint Task
Force on Affordable Housing and their recommendations for actions
needed to address the region's affordable housing crisis in the City,
County and UVA. At the Rally on February 26 at 6:30pm at Church of the
Incarnation, we'll learn about the research that has been done on the
issue of Education and hear about what solutions we'll be asking for at
the Nehemiah Action.
2009 is a year of changes - some welcome, some not so, but all
transformative. We all know that the correct response to the challenges
we face is not "every person for themselves" but "we're all in this
together." It's never been more critical that we gather, as people of
faith, to show our commitment to forward progress for social justice in
our city, our county, our neighborhood, and our community.
