Letters from our brothers & sisters in Christ
This weekend the three area ELCA Lutheran congregations will have an exchange of letters during worship.  The idea came from a tri-Lutheran Bible Study in which we were reading a letter from the apostle Paul to a congregation he had founded.  The question was asked, "if we were to write letters to each other, what would we say?"

We will find out this weekend as representatives from St. Mark and Grace & Glory will join us in worship and read their letters to us.
Summer Fun
PeaceFeast I
Join us this Saturday evening as we usher in our Summer Sabbath theme with a "Feast"! Bring your favorite summer foods and your lawn chairs for a time of community and outdoor games. We will offer bocce, volleyball, 4 square, and basketball. We will also have special programs for children during the evening. Children ages 6 and up will enjoy a fun summer evening with outdoor games and activities. Children 5 and under will have a special evening called "Resting in God's love" and are invited to a Teddy Bear Picnic. They are invited to bring their favorite bedtime friend and enjoy some crafts, story time and giggles.

It's turnip pickin' time!
Don't miss this opportunity to serve in our  hometown: Join friends from Peace as we grab our work gloves and venture out to the garden sponsored by the Quality Community Council (QCC) farm located in the Friendship Court Neighborhood for the turnip harvest. Children and adults are needed to come pick (and take home)  vegetables! The QCC gardens are designed to improve the diets of low income families with veggies harvested in their own backyards.
When: Thursday, June 12 @ 2pm
Where: The Quality Community Council Urban Farm at Sixth Street and Monicello Avenue
What to bring: work gloves and water bottles (and sunscreen!)
Questions?  Jenny Cudahy (cudahyj@msn.com) or visit the QCC website @ cvilleqcc.com

The Floating Sabbath - Tubing on the James
Spend your Sabbath on the James River with other friends from Peace. Bring your fishing tackle along for the best small mouth bass fishing on the east coast or simply unwind with a packed cooler for that picnic and let the James River take you away. This event is for children and adults ages 5 and over, provided the children can swim!
When: Sunday, June 28 @ 1:15pm
Where: James River Reeling and Rafting in Scottsville
Cost: $17 per person (if we have 25 people)
RSVP: Please sign up ASAP by emailing Jenny Cudahy (cudahyj@msn.com)
Signposts of God's Love
The signposts are all around us.  Here are a few examples.  Please keep sending info about the signs of God's love in the community that you are involved with, what opportunities to serve are available and how you can be a link between Peace and the signpost. (kimxtom@gmail.com).

Girl Scout Troop
I am a leader for a Girl Scout Troop.  The girls are rising 1st graders and SUPER cute and sweet.  I am trying to find an adult who is willing to serve as a co-leader, and one who might be willing to serve as a treasurer for our troop.  I also need adults who are have first aid and CPR certification to go on field trips with us, and who might be willing to drive girls whose mothers are unable to provide transportation for trips.
