In or Out?
|
On Sunday, May 18, (9:45am) the Sunday morning adult class will continue its discussion about welcoming homosexual persons in the church. Specifically, we will begin to look at biblical readings and how they can be interpreted by three positions: - Unwelcome and Not OK - Welcome and Not OK - Welcome and OK
The readings are: Genesis 19:1-11; Judges 19:16-30; Leviticus 18:22 and 20:13; 1 Corinthians 6:9; 1 Timothy 1:10; and Romans 1:18-32. You will find discussion related to these readings in the ELCA document, Journey Together Faithfully, Part Two: The Church and Homosexuality. You may also want to look over (and even respond to) the ELCA document, Draft Social Statement on Human Sexuality.

Summer Programming Guide
|
Don't forget this Sunday, May 18 is the last day of Sunday school before the summer break and we'll be celebrating the good times we've had this past year after the 11am service with a potluck, games and ice cream.
Sunday school may be taking a break, but we've got lots of fun in the sun activities planned as well as other learning and service opportunities available for every age. So don't miss the Summer Programming Guide available at Peace starting this weekend (and hopefully online soon).

Prayer Shawl Ministry
The Prayer Shawl Knitters meet on Fridays at 11:30am, all skill levels are welcome. This ministry was delighted to furnish shawls for 3 people in need of prayer in April. We are privileged to be able to serve the community is this way. Please continue to bring your requests to us. We are now at a point where a second group may be beneficial. This group would meet in the evening and possibly once a month. If this is something you are interested in, please contact Rita Stoll, 296-2202.
