Dear Church Mailbag
Dear Church, I think that I must be crazy writing a letter to nobody. Who is the church anyway? My town has churches everywhere. Each considers themselves Christian. Which one is the church? All of them? Together? I could be down with that, every group doing their own thing, except what I remember Jesus trying to tell his people that there was one church. You all say that Jesus is your leader, but you also preach so many different rules. Jesus says simply to love God with all your heart and mind, and love your neighbor as yourself. Right? You say it is not that simple. There are rules. And from the outside looking it, I think you like your rules more than you love God. Show me that I am wrong, church. Show me God loves everybody. No, you cannot bring yourself to that.
Write your own Dear Church letter.

Calling All Men
This weekend (Sunday, April 20) is our second session of the new men's class based on Andy Stanley's Take it to the Limit DVD series that meets at the South Campus from 9:45-10:45am. If you would like to get to know other overscheduled men of Peace, then this is the class for you! This is a six week series, but each lesson is self contained, so don't feel you have to commit to each week in order to attend. This class will is led by Paul Simpson and Russ Melton.

Team Gerizim 2008
A mission team of at least eleven feeling called to serve alongside our mission partners in Gerizim, in and around the capitol city of Tegucigalpa, Honduras, has begun its training. The group is currently made up of leaders Dr. Nancy and her husband Eric (Schmitz), their oldest son Daniel (from Alexandria, VA), the three Davids (Gerding, Poole, and Veliky), Annie Peterson, and Terri Voight from Peace. Joining us on the team are friends of Peace: Helen Ida Moyer (Grace & Glory), Jack Jones, and Ruthanna Jenkins. We have two other friends still in discernment over joining the mission. We will travel to Honduras August 2-9th. The team asks for your prayer support, and we will be actively asking for prayer partners. Our global mission trips are just one way that Peace responds to God's love and grace by reaching out and sharing with others. If you have ideas of how to share in the mission, or are looking for ways to volunteer to help without travelling with us, please contact Nancy or Eric 974-6190.
