Dear Church Mailbag

We've gotten amazing, sometimes agonizing, but always heartfelt letters. These are letters from our friends, our family and ourselves. Here is another excerpt:
"I struggle with so many issues that I feel there is not one answer for. Issues such as abortion, gay marriage, stem cell research, right to die, poverty, lack of education, etc. etc. The church is so quick to have a response and to judge, when we haven't even walked with the people we are judging and learned their stories. We judge them by the issue with no regard for their own struggles and their wisdom of self. If the church would find the time to talk to people struggling with any of these issues, they might not be so quick to judge their actions. Without knowing someone's history, we can't decide what is right for them."

Photos Needed

 The pictorial directory team will begin working on the design of our new pictorial directory this week. Please bring any photos of church activities that you would like to share to the church by Wednesday, April 19 at 4:30pm. If you would like the photos returned to you, please mark them with your name.
Also remember to sign-up for your photo shoot time. Photos will be taken at Peace April 21 thru 23.

Hymn Sing Service Opportunity
|
As we continue to search out ways to be a blessing to our community,
we invite you to come to a good ol' fashion hymn sing. A group from
Peace will be leading a hymn sing at Our Lady of Peace nursing home,
751 Hillsdale Dr, 22901. We will meet at Our Lady of Peace at 6:30 on
April 23rd.

Gerizim Mission Home Celebration
|
The May 3rd potluck will be hosted and catered by the Gerizim Mission Home Project Team. With some help from Cazon Tropical, an authentic Dominican, Salvadoran, and Honduran Restaurant and Pupuseria, and the loving hands and hearts of Honduras Mission 'Alumni', come celebrate the launch of this latest Global Mission project. There will be ample food, fellowship, and fun. There will also be an opportunity to learn more about the project, and the different ways members and friends of Peace can support the mission.
All are invited! This is an excellent opportunity to invite friends and neighbors to worship with us at the Contemporary Service, enjoy our hospitality in Fellowship, and learn about our 'home grown' Mission outreach to Honduras, now four years old.
Worship at 5:00PM, followed by Food, Fellowship, and a Program beginning at 6:15PM.
