Downy Mildew In Our Area
Downy Mildew
Downy mildew prospects have improved this week in southwestern Michigan. Southerly wind currents have brought downy mildew spores from southern states to our area.

Downy MildewDowny mildew is devastating to cucumber, melon and squash vines. Infected vines die quickly once infected. Protect your vines with Fertilome Broad Spectrum Fungicide. To protect against squash vine borers mix Spinosad into the fungicide spray and apply every 10 - 14 days.
  Note from the Editor

Occasionally we publish an Extra Edition of Wedel's News. If there is something we learn of that you should know or we think you would appreciate hearing about, you will receive a special copy of the newsletter.

It would be a shame to lose any of your vine crops now! George wants you to have the information you need to protect them from the downy mildew that is now in our area as well as from vine borers which are always a problem.

See you soon!

sunbeams out of cucumbers, which were to be put into
vials hermetically sealed, and let out to warm the air in
raw, inclement summers."
