Dear Fathers,
I thought a couple of my jobs were rewarding! But you...you have the best job!!!!
Those little people need you, rely on you from Day 1!
On Day 1, you were able to hold them, feed them, nurture them, show them the world can be a safe, loving place in Daddy's arms.
As these little people change, with each fascinating age, this will probably be the hardest job you'll ever love.
As they try and stand, you can clap for them if they succeed, or help pick them up and encourage them to try to walk again.
You are their hero, their rock. You have the chance to give them a secure foundation, make them feel safe and protected.
You have the ability to make them feel "ok" with themselves, accept their strengths and weaknesses, and how they are different from others...their own unique person!
You may offer them guidance, assist them with their problems, or just simply listen.
You can teach them life's lessons such as patience, tolerance, forgiveness, honesty, humility, and Love.
You get to rejoice with them in their accomplishments no matter how big or small.
You are their role model!!! Little boys may want to be just like you.
Little girls may look for a man "just like daddy".
So on this Father's Day, I hope you realize how important you all are! The above sounds like a really big job. I hope you know how lucky you are to have this job of Father!!!!!!!!!
