New Website
We are excited to announce the new design for IntimateMarriage.org. Not only will you find the new website inviting, but we are working to fill it with great information designed to help you build an intimate marriage. This includes new "Try This At Home" and "Ask Dr. Mike" sections.

We've provided a number of links in this newsletter to help you begin to explore the new site. We hope you find it valuable and tell your friends about it.

Email Newsletter
In conjunction with the new website, we are beginning a new email newsletter. Some time ago, whether while visiting our old website, attending a workshop, or by visiting our office, you provided us with your email address. We would like to begin sending newsletters that highlight the marriage helps we are offering, keep you posted on upcoming workshops, and generally keep you informed on what is going on in the ministry.

You have a great deal of control over your own account with us since we are using Constant Contact to manage our enewsletters. Using the links at the bottom of this newsletter, you can change your mailing preferences or remove yourself from our list at any time.

Fall Passionate Intimacy Workshop

We will be presenting a shortened version of the Passionate Intimacy Workshop at Perimeter Church in Duluth, GA (NE Atlanta) at their Breakout weekend. This is a very inexpensive way to capture six hours of the heart of this workshop.

Friday, 9/19/08 - 7 pm -9:30 pm and Saturday, 9/20/08 - 9 am - 12:30 pm
Cost - $40.00 per couple - Space is limited - REGISTER HERE

Remember, this is not the whole Passionate Intimacy Workshop. If you would like to experience the whole workshop, we are in the process of scheduling one for Spring of 2009.

Have you checked your marriage lately?

In the last couple weeks I dutifully completed my annual physical exam with my doctor and had my auto mechanic test drive my car and replace the fluids and filters. Most of us are good about regular check-ups for much of life.

But when is the last time you had your marriage checked up?

How are you doing as a couple?

One of the new additions to the IntimateMarriage.org "Try This At Home" section is a Couple Checkup. This quick couple assessment is provided in conjunction with the experts at Prepare/Enrich®. For a nominal fee and about 10 minutes of time (for you and your spouse) you will receive a 15-20 page Computer Report designed to help you build a more satisfying and intimate relationship.

We encourage you to click the "Get Started!" button and give it a try. Complete the check-up and then sit down together and discuss the areas that might need a bit more focus. Your marriage is worth it!

Note that there are also versions available for dating and engaged couples who would like a quick assessment of their relationship.

Low Cost Therapy Available through BIM

Many are not aware that Building Intimate Marriages, Inc. now offers marriage and sex therapy at a wide range of prices. With the addition of three counselors, individuals and couples seeking help can receive counseling at a sliding scale designed to fit anyone's budget.

"I am excited about our new therapy interns," said Dr. Sytsma. "Not only can Tyler and Lauren provide low cost counseling, but they can provide couples therapy as a team. There is a lot of value in having both a male and female therapist in the room."

Know of someone who could benefit from having a marriage expert evaluate the relationship, teach valuable skills and coach them to a better marriage? Invite them to visit the "Marriage & Sex Therapy" section of IntimateMarriage.org. You will find an introduction to each of our therapists as well as a whole section on how to choose the right therapist for you.

And, yes...we do provide individual counseling as well. In fact, we have many singles who appreciate having the input of marriage & family experts on both their dating relationships and their family of origin.
