Greetings!
Our inaugurational Bridge Builders lecture by The Interfaith Amigos was a huge success! We had over 150 people in attendance and we thank those of you who came to the event and brought members of your congregation and organizations. The next lecture in this series takes place on March 24th with Hind Makki of the Interfaith Youth Core. Hind will be speaking on "Building Tolerance in America's Youth During a Time of Crisis." It's a perfect topic for high school and college students, so if you know any--spread the word!
If you haven't had the chance to attend one of our World Religions classes yet, there are still two left in the series at Congregation Beth Israel (see below for more details).
The Center has concluded its strategic planning process, and we have decided to focus our religious tolerance efforts on high school and college-aged youth. To help us achieve that goal, we are very excited to announce our gala: "A Feast of Faiths: A Cross-Cultural Culinary Experience." Please save the date: June 10th. Local chefs will prepare a taste of their religious traditions. The program will also include eclectic music of the United Nations Association International Houston Choir. Proceeds will benefit the Center's new youth initiative.
Our fundraising efforts are continuing and we have almost reached the $15,000 match. Please help us reach our goal!
Sincerely,
Dr. Shira Lander Interim Director

The
Boniuk Center for Religious Tolerance at Rice University is dedicated to
nurturing tolerance among people of all or no faiths, especially youth, and to
studying the conditions in which tolerance and intolerance flourish.
Proceeds from the 2010 Friends of the Boniuk Center Campaign will
benefit the Center's outreach initiatives to foster religious tolerance
