A New Beginning

Happy New Year! 2008 is finally here! All throughout 2007, we were reminded that the number seven (7) represents completion and that God would bring conclusion to much of what we had been going through. We were told that the number eight (8) represents a new beginning, a new start. I don't know about you but I am delighted to be embarking on 2008 because I believe that God has some amazing endeavors lined up for me in this year. I believe that God is going to unfold some opportunities in my life unlike anything that I have ever experienced, all to the glory of God.

Last year, I was able to experience some wonderful opportunities. I was able to travel to meet and to establish relationships with some very phenomenal women through Life Purpose Coaching Centers, International®, led by Dr. Katie Brazelton. I am still amazed at how God brought me into this circle of women whose passion for helping other women discover and experience their God-ordained purpose was so closely aligned with my own passion for the same. During 2007, God allowed me to have some incredible opportunities to impact the lives of other women and to impart a "teeny" bit of encouragement and inspiration. And, as is God's way, He also allowed me to come up against some real challenges that have helped me to grow in my faith and trust in His ultimate plan for my life. Some of the experiences have toughened me in my resolve to endure and to overcome whatever obstacles I must in order to realize the fullness of my God-ordained destiny.

Recently, in one of my Pastor's sermons, he challenged us to believe God based on what we are hearing Him say to us through the Spirit. When I began to ponder that challenge, I realized that I was hearing God speak to my spirit the words "leadership" and "nations." My desire is to minister to women all over the world - to speak a word of encouragement and to help them to see that no matter where we have been or what we have experienced, God has a very specific plan for our lives. It's not where we've been, it's where we are going. Perhaps it will come through this newsletter; perhaps through my radio ministry. Perhaps I will actually travel to other nations. However God brings it to pass, I'm full of expectation that He will.

Do you know that there are areas in your life that God wants to develop for His glory? Are you already sensing that? Have your already begun to question God about those areas?  Are you feeling challenged to minister to someone in an area in which you were previously in bondage? Did you grapple with low self-esteem or guilt or shame from your past? Were you previously in a bad marriage or in an abusive relationship? Did you struggle in the area of parenting? Or are you being challenged to write a book or to start a business or to start a ministry? What are you hearing from God about where He wants to take you in 2008?

Are you resistant - afraid, intimidated, insecure? Are you excited - full speed ahead, confident that 2008 will be your year?

My prayer is that you are so excited about this New Year, this new beginning. I feel a surge that is propelling me into something very exciting and, most of all, something for which the kingdom of God will be glorified. In my spirit, I can hear the voices of women calling out for the gift that God has placed in me - the gift of exhortation, the gift of encouragement, the gift of "the love hug." I can hear nations saying "Come to us. Women need to hear the message of salvation, of love and of encouragement."

This e-newsletter is one of the challenges that God has placed in my heart to begin in 2008 and I am excited about how much of a blessing it will be to me as well as to all of the readers.  This is just the beginning; a new beginning.

Let me encourage you to go forth into your greatness in 2008. Don't let anyone or anything keep you from walking in your purpose. Don't let anything keep you from the life of fulfillment for which you were born. It will require prayer and a commitment to hear from God. Ask God to break the spirit of resistance and to help you to be a blessing to His kingdom.  I know that He will answer your prayer, and mine.
