Ford Motor Company Safety Representative Visits Kensington Woods High School

Ford
Ami Kapadia, a Vehicle Crash Safety Engineer from Ford Motor Company, visited Kensington Woods to discuss her role as a safety engineer.  In particular, Ms. Kapadia discussed how math, physics and engineering principles are critical in designing safety elements for today's vehicles.   In addition, she showed a crash barrier test video, and demonstrated key principles using a crash model simulator (shown below).   Students participated by brainstorming potential safety features and by evaluating the impact force imparted on an egg under various scenarios.  Thanks to Ms. Kapadia, students have a much greater appreciation for the difficulty and efforts required for producing safe vehicles.

Updates from the Parent Teacher Group

January Meeting
Our January meeting will be Wednesday, January 12, at 6pm in the Big Room. Please join us!

Special Thanks
Thank you to all the families who participated in our Holiday Luncheon,  those who decorated the Big Room, those who donated food and supplies, those who prepared and served it, and those who cleaned up afterwards.  All the day students were there, along with staff, and it really was a nice get-together.  From the words of one student, 'That was the best thing the parents have ever done for us!"
