Here is Your Opportunity to Travel the World with KWHS
Germany 2008
"When I arrived, I tossed my backpack on my bed, sat down and thought," What did I get myself into?" Since then, it's been the best experience ever."
KWHS Student in Germany 2008

Every year, KWHS offers its students the unique opportunity to travel abroad to one of two possible locations. We are happy to offer you the following choices for the 2011 destinations in Germany and Mexico.

During the 2 week trip, students stay with families to learn everyday common vocabulary and expressions, attend school and have opportunities for excursions. Due to the cost of the trip ($2,050 minus fundraisers), parent commitment is an important part to secure the success of the program. Please review the sheet here carefully and let us know, which of these opportunities you are interested in.

Responses are appreciated before Thanksgiving break (November 19th) , but are required by November 30th.

Schoolcraft College

On Monday, November 15th, KWHS Juniors and Seniors are invited to visit Schoolcraft College in Livonia for a college tour.  While on campus, students will listen to a presentation by an admissions representative and will have the chance to ask questions.  Students will go on a guided tour from 10:30-11:30 am to explore Schoolcraft College's academic offerings and campus amenities.  Students are advised to dress warm since a part of the tour takes place outside. After the campus tour, students will eat lunch in Henry's Food Court, a full service cafeteria where chefs from Schoolcraft's renowned culinary program prepare daily specials and desserts.  Students will leave KWHS at 9:15 am and will return at approximately 1 pm.  Students who are interested in this opportunity should see Mrs. Pollman for a permission slip.  All permission slips must be turned in by Thursday, November 11th!

KWoods Performs at State Finals for Cross Country

On Saturday, the Kensington Woods Cross Country team traveled to Brooklyn, Michigan to cheer on Dave Doyle in the MHSAA Cross Country State Finals.

Dave finished 182 out of 237 runners, and was the 19th place freshman in the state. His final time was 19:05. Dave fell hard at the half mile mark and scraped himself up on some gravel. But still, he kept running and toughed it out, and ran a solid, consistent race.

If you want to see all the results, photos and more, visit http://runmichigan.com/highschools/statefinals/10/xc/lp/. For the archived footage of the race, visit www.mhsaa.tv.

The team wraps up their season with the annual Cross Country banquet on Friday.
