The 9th Sunday after Pentecost
(Proper 13)

Let your continual mercy, O Lord, cleanse and defend your Church; and, because it cannot continue in safety without your help, protect and govern it always by your goodness; through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. Amen.

Hosea 11:1-11
Psalm 107:1-9, 43

Colossians 3:1-11
Luke 12:13-21

8am: Holy Eucharist Our early service is unaccompanied by music and usually lasts about 50 minutes. Coffee and fellowship are offered before the service begins in the parish hall, while the sanctuary is available for quiet prayer. Another coffee hour follows the service.

10am: Holy Eucharist Our late morning service is accompanied during the summer  by organ music and congregational singing, along with an informal Taize singing group that offers chant during Communion and rehearses briefly following the service. Nursery care is available for our youngest members and guests. A festive coffee hour for children and adults follows the Eucharist.

Please Donate to Godly Play -  For the past year we have been using Godly Play materials for our younger Sunday School class. It has been so much fun watching the way the children respond to this material. They love the stories and the visual of watching it unfold. But even better yet is the way they interact with the sets during their "work" time. The material we have from last year only represents a part of the year. To have a full year of materials we need to order additional sets. There is a display in the Parish Hall to see the wonderful quality of the materials and how much we need to purchase these items. Please feel free to donate for a full set or any amount towards the total. You may put your donation marked "Godly Play" in the alm's basin or hand it to Ben or bring it by the church Office.

Recycle printer cartridges: If you are currently throwing your empty printer cartridges away-please don't! We can get credit for them at Office Depot, and the money goes right back into the office budget. You can put them in a plastic bag and put them in Elsa's mail box, give them to her, to take them to the Cornerstone Office (which also has a mail slot in the door). Any donations will be gladly accepted. Thanks!

First Sunday of the Month offering:

The non-designated offering on the first

Sunday of the month goes toward

 Outreach and ministry support. Checks

should be made out to Christ Church

with the notation 'open offering'. 50%

of the funds go to Outreach areas that

benefit the needy; 25% goes into the

Discretionary Fund; and 25% goes into

the Rector's Business Account for his

 discretionary support of the church's

 ministry. The needs are great-

 so please be generous!

Men's Group meets: Thursday evenings August 5th and 19th at 7 pm at Trackside Pizza in downtown Puyallup. All men are welcome!
