This Sunday

March 29th
The Fifth Sunday of Lent

Almighty God, you alone can bring into order the unruly wills and affections of sinners: Grant your people grace to love what you command and desire what you promise; that, among the swift and varied changes of the world, our hearts may surely there be fixed where true joys are to be found; through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and for ever. Amen.

8am: Holy Eucharist
Our early service is unaccompanied by music and usually lasts about 50 minutes. Coffee and fellowship are offered before the service begins in the parish hall, while the sanctuary is available for quiet prayer. Another coffee hour follows the service.

10am: Holy Eucharist
This Eucharistic service is accompanied by our choir of mixed adult voices and organ, or on second Sundays of each month by Soul Purpose, our contemporary band. Nursery care and children's education are available during this service. A festival reception for kids and adults follows the service.

11:30am: Music rehearsals
Following the worship services, our musical groups gather to prepare for the next weeks' offerings.

Upcoming Events

The Way of the Cross: A Visual Pilgrimage through Fourteen Stations and their Icons.
Often called the Stations of the Cross, this is an ancient series of prayers originally practiced by pilgrims on their way to Jerusalem. Worshippers will be seated in the pews while a series of images are projected, to represent each station. The traditional prayers will accompany the images, and music will provide space for reflection and meditation. This worship opportunity is available on Friday evenings at 7pm on March 6, 13, 20, 27, and April 3.

The Emergency Food Network (EFN) is offering us an opportunit to help with their Repack Project. Volunteers will pack frozen bulk product - corn, peas, mixed vegetables, etc. - into one and two pound family sized bags. These bags will then be distributed to those in need at Pierce County food banks. Everything happens at The Emergency Food Network Distribution Center, 3318 92nd St South in Lakewood. Volunteers are needed on Friday March 27th, volunteers are needed from 12pm to 3pm. Even though this invitation is extended to CECoP specifically, volunteers should sign up as individuals. Call 253-584-1040, or  eMail Stephanie@efoodnet.org, or sign up online.
