October 12th The Twenty-second Sunday after Pentecost (Proper 23)
Lord, we pray that your grace may always precede
and follow us, that we may continually be given to good works; through
Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy
Spirit, one God, now and for ever. Amen.
8am: Holy Eucharist
Our early service is unaccompanied by music and usually lasts about 50 minutes. Coffee and fellowship are offered before the service begins in the parish hall, while the sanctuary is available for quiet prayer. Another coffee hour follows the service.
10am: Sunday School takes place during the first part of our 10am service. The children join the congregation at the peace and share with the whole community in Eucharist.
10am: Holy Eucharist
This Eucharistic service is accompanied by Organ and includes congregational hymns and service music. During the summer months our choir is on sabbatical and various musical offerings will be made during the liturgy. A coffee hour for kids and adults follows the service.
11:30am: Music rehearsals Following the worship services, our musical groups gather to prepare for the next weeks' offerings. |

There will be children's games and activities and a pumpkin patch on Saturday, bake shop, tuck shop (more food), high tea on Saturday, vendors and craftspeople. Also on the agenda is a traditional Celtic talent show on Saturday, and a Celtic dinner Sunday afternoon. St. Andrew's is located at 7410 S. 12th St., Tacoma. The annual Santa's Seconds sale will take place on Saturday, December 6 from 10AM to 3PM. Setup will be on Friday, December 5, starting at 10AM. All volunteers are welcome (and needed!).. A light lunch will be served on both days. Last year, profits from the sale were the highest ever because many new items were generously donated. Things that sell well include jewelry, stationery, greeting cards, Xmas decorations, clothing with a Christmas motif, linens, pictures, knick-knacks, candles, toys, games, and current books. Items should be in good repair.. Old pieces of luggage; single, unmatched glasses and coffee mugs; and old computers and accessories do not sell well, and it would be better to donate such items to local thrift shops. Donations may be left on the back of the stage in the parish hall during the week preceding the sale. If you have questions, please call Stephanie Roberts at 253/840-4370.

Pierce County Hunger Walk
|
|
 |
Thank You!
Thank you for the generous donations to the Associated Ministries Pierce County Hunger Walk I participated in October 5th. The money raised will support the Emergency Food Network, the County's non-profit distribution center for food banks and hot meal sites, including Puyallup's FISH food bank. The EFN will use the funds to provide food for the more than 143,000 Pierce County residents that visit food banks and hot meal sites each month.
With gratitude,
Robin Partington
