The SRD is an outdoor festival combining a youth climbing comp with clinics for adults focusing on various climbing skills conducted by industry pros. Festivities will include media presentations, music, food, workshops for climbing, yoga, slacklining, circus skills and MUCH, MUCH MORE. This event should not be missed! Smith Rock Detour: September 20 and 21, 2008 at Smith Rock State Park.
The wonderful folks who organize SRD, ClimbMax Mountaineering, invited us to present our work and they are making a generous donation to give hope and life to children with AIDS. We will be presenting right before the Reel Rock Film showing. Join us there!

Welcome Participants!
Teams and individuals unite against pediatric AIDS
On Sept. 20 and 21, people in various countries and states will climb, hike, ride and run to raise awareness and funds for pediatric AIDS. By joining the second annual "Climb Up So Kids Can Grow Up" fundraiser, they are giving life and hope to children in Sub-Saharan Africa.
Joining us this year are teams such as Team Maisha (Seattle, WA - hiking), Team Geekanox (Arlington, VA - cycling), Team KanyeKanye (Charlotte, NC - climbing), Team Jonestown Riders (Jonestown, PA - cycling), Team Peaceful Warrios (Crestted Butte, CO - climbing, and Team SoCal (LA, CA - climbing/yoga), among others.
Climbing gyms such as Inner Peaks (NC), Petra Cliffs (VT), and University of Wisconsin Stevens Point Climbing Wall (WI) have also joined AFCA's efforts, along with individuals from all around the world.
It is so exciting to see this event take off! Thank you to each of our sponsors and participants...because of you, many children will life full lives.

Summit Expeditions and Nomanic Experience
Karibu! Welcome!
I, Simon Mtuy, invite you to join me and my company, Summit Expeditions & Nomadic Experience (SENE), for an adventure in Africa. We offer a variety of packages in Tanzania, ranging from extreme adventure to leisurely vacation, from 4-wheel drive safaris through the Serengeti to beach holidays in Zanzibar.
Our specialty is leading expeditions up Kilimanjaro, the Roof of Africa and tallest free-standing mountain in the world. Our trekking expeditions are custom designed to meet your skill and interest level. My guides and I use less traveled routes to the summit to add to your enjoyment.
Each of our trips, either a Kilimanjaro trek or a safari, begins and ends in the modern cottages on the farm where I was born in the village of Marangu Mbahe at the base of the mountain, where the local people, the Chagga, warmly welcome visitors. My hope is that those of you who want to experience the rare beauty of my country and who are open to the magic of this extraordinary country - its people, its land and its wildlife - will join me for your adventure of a lifetime in Tanzania. To learn more about SENE please visit our website at www.nomadicexperience.com and contact us about your Tanzania adventure interests at info@nomadicexperience.com.
