About the AFCA:
 
The mission of the American Foundation for Children with AIDS is to improve the lives of children and youth struggling with the impact of the HIV/AIDS pandemic. We provide cost-effective relief, services, medical and social support, education and advocacy to help these victims achieve their full life potential.
Dear Friends,  
 
I am so excited to tell you that because of your generosity, AFCA sent over $5,100,000.00 worth of medicine, medical supplies and equipment, ATMIT (soy-based cereal), blankets, and hygiene kits to children in Kenya, Zimbabwe and Uganda!
 
We absolutely could not do it without our donors, so our heartfelt thanks go out to each of you.  You are saving the lives of precious children and should know that no donation is too small.  All provide hope and give the children a chance to live full lives.
 
We look forward to 2008 and hope you will continue being part of this important work.

The Challenge: Along with the Case Foundation, Parade Magazine is presenting America's Giving Challenge and awarding $50,000 to the top eight charities whose supporters have attracted the most unique donors to their cause...we could do SO much with that!
 
If we all each donate at least $10 before the end of January, 2008, American Foundation for Children with AIDS has a chance to receive a large monetary gift with which we can send half a year's worth of medication to the children in our programs.  Imagine the power of that!
 
The idea of this challenge is not only to donate a minimum of $10, but also to invite all your friends to participate.  It is only through inviting others that we'll be able to reach the number of people we need to reach in order to win.  Right now, the top charities have received between 115-700 contributions and we have only 19 days to put AFCA somewhere within or over that range.
