Dear Friends,

Autumn is here...again!     Logo

How quickly this year is passing by, yet how much has been done so far!  To date this year, we have sent over $2.6M worth of medicine to our children in East Africa and have also sent hygiene kits for the kids and their families, along with reinforced cereal so children can eat prior to taking their medicine.

This was all done thanks to the generosity of each of our donors, whether they are individuals, churches, grant makers, companies, or civic groups.  Without each of you, we could not do what we do.  We look forward to doing so much more, though!  There are many children who need our help and we want to provide it.

To each of you who are a part of us, thank you.

On behalf of the children and families we serve,

News: You can save lives by shopping online!

Ever wonder where the Rubik's Cube really came from? Try Budapest! In 1974, a man named Erno Rubik invented the Cube.  After winning the highest prize for outstanding inventions in Hungary, in 1980, the Cube won top toy awards in Britain, France, Germany, and the U.S., and quickly achieved a universal presence.  The Cube became so popular in our society that "Rubik's Cube" became a term listed in the Oxford English Dictionary!

Imagine for a minute how much money could be raised for AFCA if supporters bought their toys (yes, and Rubik's Cubes!), games, and puzzles at www.iGive.com, where up to 26% of every purchase is donated to AFCA! At iGive.com, membership is free! So hurry up and visit the iGive.com Mall where you can shop at 680+ online stores, including eToys, Constructive Playthings, The Scholastic Store, and BitsandPieces.com.

So, as you shop for the children and loved ones in your lives this holiday season, please consider shopping through www.iGive.com.  There are no extra charges to you, yet AFCA receives a donation for every purchase made, which directly impacts the life of a child with AIDS.

Thank you: Hugh M. Henry Foundation

A heartfelt thank you to the Henry family for donating the proceeds from their 2007 Hugh M. Henry Memorial Golf Tournament to AFCA. And, we thank each and every golfer who took part in the tournament. We look forward to a long-term relationship with HHM.

Action of the Month: Save a child's life today!
We're geared up to Think Pink, but did you know that October is also AIDS Awareness Month? AIDS ribbon

With our pink ribbons pinned to our chests, we're showing the world we support the important fight against breast cancer. But as we're doing so, many of us are leaving an equally important gap above our hearts.

Make room for a red ribbon -- one that symbolizes the fight against AIDS -- especially for those children with AIDS who aren't able to fight the battle alone.

During this special month, please sponsor a child with AIDS. Do it today. What does it take to give these kids a shot at a full life? Just a dollar a day, that is all!  Click here to learn more about sponsoring a child and become a hero.
