GCS Students Focus on Bullying Prevention
Jalyn McKoy knew what do last year when she experienced bullying. Jalyn, now a fifth-grader at Frazier Elementary, told her mom, who worked with the school to resolve the situation without any further incidents.
Jalyn used the skills she learned through Guilford County Schools' Character Development program, which teaches students how to recognize bullying and what to do if they see it happen. Nationally, about 56 percent of students have witnessed bullying at school, according to www.bullyingstatistics.org.
