WHAT PEOPLE SAY:
Here's what a few of Dayle Doroshow's past students have said about her classes (Dayle will be at Maureen's the first week in November):
From Allyson:
"I have taken many classes over the years, but Dayle's classes are the ones that inspire me to continue creating objects and jewelry long after the class is over. "
Stephania said:
"We didn't have much time to talk this weekend but it was truly a couple of incredible days for me! Let me tell you what I noticed about this particular workshop. I looked around the room and everyone was working -- on wonderful pieces. You brought out the best in a room of what I consider to be a group of wildly talented women artists. There wasn't much "teacher, I need your attention", which may have been harder for you, but it really is a compliment. Your style is so easy-going, no one I came in contact with felt pressure, other than that we placed on ourselves. (I still have to sit with "little plums of clay" and work on my faces. : ) )) A number of us are so grateful we had the opportunity to spend the time with you."

Outside Our Back Door ...
Spring is on it's Way
This photo is for our warm-weather visitors, those who've not experienced our backyard in winter.
Those of you who have visited us or taken classes at Maureen's in Jordan, MN probably recognize this photo as Sand Creek, the friendly little waterway that passes by less than 100 feet from our classroom door.
Right now the creek isn't so friendly, but it's beautiful and awesome in its power. The ice is in the process of breaking up, which some years it does quietly with nary a notice, and at other times comes with a force and fury that bangs and crashes, carrying people-sized ice floes and half grown trees and wonder in its wake. And sometimes, just sometimes, the legs of our riverside deck!
The creek is why we purchased the property, as one of Maureen's stipulations for a retreat center was that it had to be on water. She loves Sand Creek, it's changeable nature, the overhanging vines, the mystery of what just might be floating downstream the next time someone looks out, or the chance finding of mythical river rocks when the summer-time flow becomes a mere trickle.
Winter is also a time for reflection and interior growth, which we've managed to do a bit of this winter. We've even carved out some time to create new products, including SOME NEW MOLDS, which we'll introduce in our March newsletter. Stay tuned!
