Val Moving to Omaha Oct. 26

Val Daniels, who has worked at Maureen's for 4 1/2 years, will be moving to Nebraska in just two short weeks.

This is a terrific opportunity for Val to once again live near family, including that all important granchild, but we will miss her dearly!

Val has kept things together here at Maureen's through the writing of four books and our changes from a 4-day a week retail shop to primarily a class and retreat facility.

Here's to you, Val.  We wish you great joy in your new home!!!

Mug HuggerFALL CLEANING SPECIAL!

We're cleaning out.  Making room for new things in both our Weefolk on-line catalog and at Maureen's.

So, it's time to say good-bye to some of our well-loved but overstocked items.  It feels almost like saying good bye to old friends to close out these little characters.

Maureen still remembers brainstorming the ideas with Cindy, Lee and the Plunkets down in Texas.  But, it's time.  We need the shelf space, and there are new Sister and Friar Folk ready to be displayed.  So long, little fellas.

Success is ...

This past weekend at Maureen's we hosted our 9th Dollmaking Circle class with Barb Kobe.  This class has become a cornerstone of what we offer to students, as it combines technical information with a deep emphasis on the creative process and what it can help us discover about ourselves.  I love this class.

But this year I almost didn't participate.  I had so much to do, you know.  And I certainly didn't need another half-done piece sitting around making me feel guilty.  But, the magic of the colors and the textiles and the 7 faces full of anticipation drew me in.

I am so glad.  This quote by Robert Raines from his book , Success is a Moving Target, is one of my journal entries for the weekend, and it became my theme:

Success is being freed from the inside by a
self-acceptance which release the energies of rebirth within us.

Here's to the continuing journey, and to all the twists and bends that make it what it is: Our story.
