Campaign TIP of the Week
Speaker Presentation

If you attended our Employee Campaign Coordinator Training, you heard first-hand how important and valuable Speaker's Bureau presentations can be in growing your campaign participation and results. Is there really that much of an impact? Yes, there is! Last year, campaigns that included a speaker presentation did 13% better on average than campaigns that did not.

So far in this campaign season, we have completed 45 presentations with 20 more scheduled, but we have the resources to do more. Need more convincing?

Please read these comments from ECC evaluations of their Speaker Bureau presentation.

"Brad had a nice laid back way of presenting here at SMMPA.  Because of that, I think he related well with our employees here regarding senior care and what is available in Olmsted County. I was very satisfied with Brad's presentation."

"Dynamic, Informative, Tangible stories, Passionate, Easy to listen to, Inspiring.  Thanks so much for offering us a speaker option and thanks to Mary Welder for speaking to our group.  She was great!"

"Our speaker was a perfect match for Library staff and her presentation was both informative and inspiring, thanks!"

"Carmen was a great speaker.  We could tell she was very invested in her role for the United Way.  It was a very powerful moment when she spoke about the man who apologized for being at the food shelf.  That story made it very real."

"Johnny was amazing. People really responded to his story and he presented it perfectly!"

"Jennifer did a great job! She was very professional and friendly! I'm not a public speaker so it was wonderful to have someone who could really tell the United Way story for our staff!"

"After the meeting I heard comments how touched they were by the stories of how people need help and how much of a need United Way is. The United way presentation was the most talked about subject from the meeting. Thank you very much for providing speakers."

Running Start for School Results

In 2012, 29% more students received school supplies.

 Running Start for Schools

This year we provided 3,377 students with school supplies, a 29% increase over last year. 3,032 students also received back packs (Though some students did not need a replacement backpack, we did run short of backpacks for high school students.).

Your contributions - big and small - accomplished something truly grand.
