Spring is when I start seeing cute purses popping up everywhere! I wonder where they are all hiding when I am searching for the perfect purse - which, in fact, is most of the time! But also, which purse will raise the most money for the Imagination Library during the Seventh Annual Power of the Purse Silent Auction and Luncheon on Tuesday, June 19, 2012. The silent purse auction has attracted more than 300 purse donations in the past - from designer labels to local creations and from classic to unusual styles. Our fabulous purse auction committee is already hard at work trying to find those "hidden gems" out there in the community.
Power of the Purse is sponsored by United Way of Olmsted County's Women's Leadership Council. This event benefits the Imagination Library which provides a book a month to enrolled Olmsted County children, from birth to age 5. Currently, we have over 6,000 children enrolled in the program which is about 53% of the eligible children in Olmsted County. There is no cost to the family and children enrolled in this program and they are so excited to receive their very own book in the mail each month!
Join us on June 19 for the Seventh Annual Power of the Purse Silent Auction and Luncheon to support the Imagination Library. Check out our web site for more details, how to donate purses, as well as purchase tickets: http://www.uwolmsted.org/pop
