Have you noticed your need for closeness, security and feeling loved being rubbed up against your need for excitement, desire and feeling more alive?
This paradox (and many others) is often found in long-term relationships. Paradoxes can trip us up if we are not conscious of HOW to integrate them in to our lives. It takes certain skills, understandings and maturity. Some even call it an ART.
Creating the relationship you believe you and your partners are capable of takes attention. It is a most exciting process, because it is the expression of you--all that you are, have been and long to be!
The journey itself calls us to balance these paradoxes:
~ the need to talk/be open and the need for privacy,
~ the need to feel safe and secure and the need for some adventure or growth
~ the need for closeness/being known and the need for space/room for the unknown.
Navigating through these are key. No one is born with these skills and few of us have been taught.
