  Spring 2010
Greetings!

Welcome to Spring 2010 and to Yoga Therapy News!

These beautiful days invite us to go outside - get active and play, or clean up from the Winter, BUT PLEASE proceed with caution... too many people injure themselves doing too much too fast this time of year.

Balance is key. Self-care brings joy!

Please look below - There are a few FREE workshops you may want to attend and take a look at the NEW ISSUES CORNER. This month it is about ANXIETY.

It is great time of year to renew or begin a self-care plan that is right for you. Please contact me for ideas and a FREE CONSULTATION.

Namaste,
Jackie

Come find out how Psychotherapy and Counseling merge with Yoga and Meditation to address very specific concerns (anxiety, stress, sleep challenges, trauma, etc.)
Issues Corner - ANXIETY

Anxiety is unease or worry in the absence of a direct threat. While slight amounts of anxiety are normal and necessary in some situations, excess amounts can interfere with relationships, social settings, work, even with spending time alone.

ANXIETY is a symptom, NOT A FEELING. If you are anxious, you are not experiencing your feelings and that is the cause of anxiety.

YOGA THERAPY offers postures that speak directly to the body, mind and heart. The anxious body generally has an need to open and relax its heart-area, chest and throat. Special breathing techniques help you slow your heart rate, find your breathing flow, calm your mind and focus on what is - going beyond what is imagined.

Through these exercises, additional mind-body techniques, and compassion-centered counseling, you are guided away from the symptom (ANXIETY) and toward your ability to manage your feelings.

Please email me with thoughts and questions.
