Anxiety is unease or worry in the absence of a direct threat. While slight amounts of anxiety are normal
and necessary in some situations, excess amounts can interfere with relationships, social settings, work, even with spending time alone.
ANXIETY is a symptom,
NOT A FEELING. If you are anxious, you are not experiencing your
feelings and that is the cause of anxiety.
YOGA THERAPY offers postures that speak directly to the body, mind and heart. The anxious body generally has an need to open and relax its heart-area, chest and throat. Special breathing techniques help you slow your heart rate, find your breathing flow, calm your mind and focus on what is - going beyond what is imagined.
Through these exercises, additional mind-body techniques, and compassion-centered
counseling, you are guided away from the symptom (ANXIETY) and toward your ability to manage your feelings.
