Celebrating Those Who Serve With Tools

Home Repairs Ministries is holding a lunch to recognize those who have volunteered and supported the ministry and to meet those who have some interest in the ministry. The lunch is planned for July 20th at 12:30 p.m. at Perimeter Church in Fellowship Hall E thru H. You will be able hear how you have blessed those served. Please RSVP (not required but very helpful) with Amy Adkison at if you, your family, or small group is interested in attending or need directions.

Flood Student Missions

Kimberly Scales had the vision for starting a non-profit to get middle and senior high teens to serve in the community. Oh, by the way, she is a Christian and wants them to realize that it is about the example of the Lord, Jesus. FLOOD provides "local mission opportunities for students to saturate their communities with the hearts and hands of Christ." She got in contact with Harvey awhile back and on Wednesday, July 9, 10-15 students will be working with Home Repairs Ministries for one of their "Get Wet - short term trips". The students will be cutting and removing fallen & dead trees left by the tornadoes.

We are looking forward to being a part of the larger work that FLOOD is doing in the Metro Atlanta Area. Please pray for the group of students who will be working together with HRM and that the homeowner will sense the touch of Christ. Also pray for developing FLOOD chapters in more schools to further the vision to "saturate" the community through Ark serving projects. Are you beginning to sense that Noah may have been here?

Watching God

Glenda has sustained serious injuries and in addition, suffered various medical problems. She has not been able to work for months. HRM heard about her from one of the local churches that has been helping her otherwise, and here's what God does with a little cooperation from the Body:

  1. In May He sends a volunteer to mow her lawn.
  2. Provides Cross Pointe Church looking for a project for their serving weekend in June. (a). Where an volunteer mechanic worships and who repairs her broken riding mower as part of the serving. (b) With the chimney badly leaking, Cross Pointe has a man in the chimney business & offers to rebuild it with church volunteers. (c) Families jump in to do a major yard cleanup and some other critical tasks for Glenda.
  3. First Baptist Duluth offers to do the painting.

Glenda is encouraged, blessed, prayed with and for, has new Christian friends, and the Body of Christ moves forward in transforming the community together. That's what your support for HRM is doing. It is so much fun for us to work where God is leaving finger prints galore. We thank God for you, too.
