Our Projects

June
We began providing PB&J sandwiches in the break room and we started an employee food bank.

July
We helped Joan Wyland paint her kitchen and living room.  We laughed and told stories.  It was really a good time.

August
We helped clean windows for an elderly friend of Joan Wyland.  By working as a team the windows were washed in no time.

September
We raised $75 for the Alzheimer's Association and walked in the Alzheimer's Memory Walk for a Cure at Winthrop University.

October
Hilda Nealey's son had a hip replacement on September 23 and when he returned home from the hospital we took turns and teamed up to make his family dinner for the entire week.  His family greatly appreciated our efforts and said that it really helped.

November
Marsha Shidagis was in a car accident; along with a concussion she suffered a broken ankle that she actually had to have surgery on.  Volunteers prepared her and her family meals for seven days following her surgery.

December
A few of our members volunteered to help wrap Christmas presents for the less fortunate.  Patti Hayden's home had become a hub full of unwrapped Christmas gifts before the holiday season began, but by Christmas they were all wrapped and distributed. We wrapped over 80 bags, each full of hundreds of presents.

January
We participated in Hearts for Heroes; a program organized by WSOC's Tanner in the morning radio show. Every year the show collects and sends Valentine's Day cards to US troops across the globe.   We printed and wrote over 50 Valentines.

February
About 2 months ago Sherrie Boarman's mother had a stroke and two weeks ago her brother, who was taking care of her mother, also suffered a stroke.  We are currently volunteering to make them dinner every other day for the entire month of February.
