Happy New Year! First of all, thanks to all that have contributed to our year-end campaign. Truly, your generosity is much appreciated. If you've been meaning to get to it, it's ok - just click on the pretty green button with the bow, down there on the left. It's never too late! How can you benefit? Join us for the opening reception of Nueva Luz Photographs: 1985-2011 on January 24 at Sarah Lawrence College in conjunction with the launch of the 50th issue of Nueva Luz. Then mark your calendars for two Touring Gallery exhibitions opening in February: Sonia Louise Davis's tracing(s) and belonging(s) on February 1st and Yonkeros, Photographs by Jaime Permuth at Pregones Theater on February 28th.
And if you have been wondering how we find artists for our Touring Gallery exhibitions and Nueva Luz, see below for further details - we'd love to hear from you and see your work! There is a ton of listings for opportunities at the bottom of this email too, so carpe diem. Show 2012 what you're made of! With all this programming, we will be moving our e-newsletter to every other month, but will continue to send out announcements and reminders for our events. En Foco Call For Entries
We are now accepting submissions for our Touring Gallery Community Exhibitions Program and Nueva Luz
ONLINE SUBMISSION:
Send a portfolio of 20 images for consideration. We strongly encourage submissions to show a definite and resolved grouping of images. More details can be found HERE (keep in mind this particular deadline is for ONLINE submissions).
WHAT TO SEND:- 20 jpgs (72 dpi with 1200 pixels as its largest dimension).
- PDF of your Bio and/or resume, noting your heritage and U.S. citizenship status;
- PDF of an artist statement about the work submitted;
- PDF of the checklist of images submitted (include full title, series, year, medium and size).
SEND TO:
submissions@enfoco.org and include the name of the program/s you would like to be considered for in the subject line (Touring Gallery or Nueva Luz). Please allow 6-8 weeks for a response, due to the high volume of entries. Gracias!
