Honoree DEBORAH WILLIS, is a curator, photographer, photo historian, Chair of the Department of Photography & Imaging at NYU/Tisch (and her favorite role, being Hank Willis Thomas' mother). A prolific author, she has literally altered the cultural field of photography by publishing many books on African and African American photographers.

En Foco's Permanent Collection is a unique (and possibly the first) collection dedicated specifically to US-based photographers of Latino/Latin American, African/Caribbean, Asian/South and West Asian, and Native Peoples of the Americas and Pacific. While the show is currently on view at Light Work, in order for us to receive the full NEA funding we need to match their grant dollar per dollar... and we still have a ways to go before our December deadline.

Please help us raise the remaining funds so we may travel the show to additional venues throughout the country and publish a book about this little know photographic history.

Even if you cannot attend, please consider a fully

tax-deductible donation.

For 37 years we have brought together artists and images largely absent from the mainstream field of photography - your help will allow others to see the work, and have this wealth of voices recognized.
