Greetings!

June is here and the thermostat is climbing, but don't go to the beach yet. There's a lot of great photography to see right now. Kenneth Nelson will talk about his new show Harlem Nocturnal on Wednesday night at the Bronx Library, and we tracked down a number of great exhibits around New York. If you're not in the New York City area, you can find some inspiration and motivation from our newest Artist Interview with Pato Hebert.

For those of you seeking opportunities in your career, there are quite a few opportunities to get published and exhibited posted below. Our annual New Works award deadline is also approaching, and the winners get a benefits package that makes us look like the Goldman Sachs of the photo world. If you need a little motivation to apply to New Works, come by Calumet Photographic at the end of the month and see last year's winners.

Since summer is synonymous with getting together with friends, we're throwing a party. Our Summer Fiesta Benefit will take place at Calumet on July 14th. It's part fundraiser, and part excuse to hang out with all of you, so I hope you can all make it.

Pato Podcast

"Rather than focus on form like Weston, or printing process like Cunningham, Hebert is looking deeply into human spirituality with this group of photographs." - Elizabeth Shank

The next installment in our artist interview series is up on the blog and You Tube and features Pato Hebert. You probably know Pato from his Catching Your Breath series in Nueva Luz 14:2. This is an amazing interview that is sure to inspire.
