We are excited to announce that Nueva Luz has been nominated and is now a finalist for the 2007 Lucie Awards' Support Category of "Photography Magazine of the Year!!"

Thank you to all of our supporters who took the time to nominate Nueva Luz, and the IPA Photographers Advisory Board!

The winner will be announced on October 15th at the Lucie Awards ceremony at Lincoln Center's Avery Fisher Hall, NYC.
The evening also honors Kenro Izu with a Visionary Award.
Izu was published in our very first issue of Nueva Luz in 1984, and his new work is also being featured in our upcoming Intercambio section later this month (volume 12#2).

Grant Opportunity: The Aftermath Project

The Aftermath Project supports photographic projects that tell the other half of the story of conflict -- the story of what it takes for individuals to learn to live again, to rebuild destroyed lives and homes, to restore civil societies, to address the lingering wounds of war while struggling to create new avenues for peace. Grant proposals should reflect an understanding of this mission, and may relate to the aftermath of numerous kinds of conflict, not just international wars.

One $25,000 grant will be given in this cycle, for work to be done in 2008. Three to five finalists will also be named, with their work included in Aftermath Project publications.

Deadline: November 15, 2007

Visit theaftermathproject.org to download the application form.
