Happy Summer! Check out what's new this month at En Foco, from the New Works submission deadline, to our new magazine to our latest photo sharing project.

July 16th: New Works #11 deadline

En Foco's Photography Awards is an annual program open to photographers of African, Asian, Latino/a, Native American and Pacific Islander heritage. The goal is to create or complete an in-depth photographic series which explores themes emanating from personal experiences. Three photographers will be selected from a national call for entries to receive:
  • An honorarium and exhibition prep stipend
  • Photographic supplies (varies according to funding year)
  • Technical assistance
  • A photographer's page on www.enfoco.org
  • and a group exhibition in New York City.
Juror: Melissa Harris, Editor of Aperture magazine

- Full color pages to beautifully highlight the work of Larry McNeil (cover artist), Dulce Pinzón and Sama Alshaibi.

- Commentary by Hannah Freiser, Director of Light Work, Syracuse, NY.

- The Fort Apache Connection, an exhibition article by Native American Curator Nadema Agard, where Apache artists react to the 1981 movie "Fort Apache, The Bronx."
