En Foco's New Works Photography Awards program acts as a creative incubator, enabling artists to create or complete an in-depth, photographic work exploring themes emanating from their personal experiences, and providing the infrastructure for a professional exhibition in the New York area. Artists also receive an honorarium, technical assistance, professional camera bags from Lowepro, Fuji Film and tripods from Bogen.Special thanks to everyone that made this year's program possible: the Bronx Council on the Arts, Rockefeller Brothers Fund, the Andy Warhol Foundation for the Arts, the New York State Council on the Arts, the NYC Department of Cultural Affairs, Carnegie Corporation of New York, Spectral Masters Digital Imaging, and our many friends and supporters.Longwood Art Project is the contemporary art center of the Bronx Council on the Arts with the mission to support artists and their work, especially emerging artists from underrepresented groups such as people of color and women, through Longwood Art Gallery @ Hostos, Digital Matrix Commissions Program, and public programs that provide opportunities for free and open dialogue. Longwood Arts Project presents solo and group exhibitions of works of art produced in various media or through interdisciplinary practices that connect artists, communities, and ideas within and beyond the Bronx.
