You're Invited!
The Chelsea District Library invites you to its third annual Authors in Chelsea event the evening of Tuesday, March 27. This literary event brings three nationally known children's authors and illustrators to Chelsea to present workshops to area schools during the day and to visit the library in the evening to give brief presentations, answer questions, and sign booksWe hope that you, your colleagues, and your students will be able to attend this very special event and we encourage you to share this invitation. Books will be available for purchase, courtesy of Chelsea's Just Imagine bookstore.

This year's authors and illustrators are: 
 
John Nickle - author and illustrator of The Ant Bully (made into the popular 2006 animated movie The Ant Bully, starring the voices of Julia Roberts, Nicolas Cage and Meryl Streep),  Alphabet Explosion, and illustrator of the recently published, Hans My Hedgehog.

Tony Abbott - author of more than 75 books for elementary readers including The Secrets of Droon series, the new Goofballs series, Firegirl, winner of the Golden Kite Award for Fiction in 2007, and The Postcard , winner of the Edgar Award for the Best Juvenile Mystery novel in 2009.

     
           
Jim Ottaviani - author of non-fiction graphic books, Levitation: Physics and Psychology in the Service of Deception, T-Minus: the Race to the Moon, and  Feynman. All of Ottaviani's books have been nominated for awards, and  Feynman recently made Oprah's list of Books You Never Thought You'd Read (But Will Fall in Love with Instantly).
