Looking for that special gift for a birthday or holiday? The Friends of Chelsea District Library are now offering the library's oral history documentaries on DVD for sale:  One Room Schoolhouse, WWII Veterans and Farmers documentaries. The cost is $16 per DVD.

  

One Room Schoolhouse 

This documentary captures and preserves the experiences of attending a one room schoolhouse in rural western Washtenaw County.  

  

WWII Veterans

A collection of different perspectives of the war, told by Chelsea area veterans who were there and told in their own way. 

 

Farmers

This documentary tells the story of farming in the Chelsea area and the major changes that have occurred over the years.

 

DVDs are available for purchase at the Check Out Desk.

We're looking for a Library Aide to help keep our collection of materials in top shape for our community.

What you'll do:

 

  • Sort and shelve library materials   

     
  • Maintain shelf order by organizing and identifying materials in need of repair   

     
  • Coordinate newspapers and magazines by discarding papers according to schedule, bundling papers for recycling, and keeping order on racks 

     
  • Assist patrons with basic directional and collection questions

Library Closings     

    

The library will close at 5pm Wednesday, November 23 

and be closed Thursday, November 24 in observance of Thanksgiving Day. We will re-open on Friday, November 25 at 10am.

Online services will continue uninterrupted: use the library's website and online catalog to search, reserve and renew items; sign up for library programs; read library blogs and research topics with our online databases.
