 Join Mr. B's Joybox Express, Chelsea -Area Wellness Foundation and Chelsea District Library as we Ride for the Read - Chelsea Reads Together! Enjoy a performance by the Joybox Express at 1:00pm. The ride will depart at 2:30pm. Sunday, July 10 in Katie's KornerPerformance starts at 1:00pm | Ride departs at 2:30pmWhat is the Read?- Chelsea Reads Together! A community project encouraging everyone to read the same book to stimulate dialog and exchange of ideas around the subject of health and wellness
What is the goal of the ride?- Raise money for Chelsea Reads Together events during the month of October

- Garner pledges from family and friends to support Chelsea Reads Together
- Make a contribution to Chelsea Reads Together
How far do I have to ride?- 15 leisurely miles from Chelsea to Ann Arbor
What do I get in return?- Food is free, participants pay for beer

Meet Ron! Head of Technology Services

Ron Andrews is Chelsea District Library's Head of Technology Services and has worked at the library since 2001. He maintains the library's website, coordinates the library database subscriptions and works with Andy, the library's network administrator to make sure computers are up and running. Ron provides reference service, teaches technology workshops at the library and senior centers and provides audio visual support. Ron has a passion for computer training, having worked as a Master Trainer at North Carolina State Library, Solinet and the Gates Foundation for Libraries. He received his Bachelor of Arts in Theatre Education from Mars Hill College and his MLS at University of North Carolina- Greensboro. Ron is an organist/pianist for Zion Lutheran Church and studied music at North Carolina School of the Arts. He is the happy parent of three cats and a pug, loves biographies, pottery and is an art fair fanatic. Ron is currently reading A Covert Affair by Jennet Conant on his iPad.

Library Closed in Observance of Independence Day Chelsea District Library will be closed Monday, July 4 in observance of Independence Day. Online services will continue uninterrupted, so please use the library's website and online catalog to search, reserve and renew items; sign up for library programs; read library blogs and research topics with our online databases. We will re-open Tuesday, July 5 at 10:00am.

Summer hours are now in effect through Labor Day: Monday - Thursday: 10:00am-8:00pm Friday: 10:00am-6:00pm Saturday: 10:00am-3:00pm Sunday: 1:00-5:00pm

About Us
The Chelsea District Library is nonprofit organization whose mission is to provide equal access to quality resources that serve the lifelong cultural, educational and informational needs and interests of all people. The Library currently serves 14,000 residents in the Chelsea district - City of Chelsea plus Dexter, Lima, Lyndon and Sylvan townships and more than 20,000 individuals visit the Library each month. The Library's state-of-the-art facility is an access point for information including: books, periodicals, DVDs, CDs, audiobooks, downloadable e-books, subscription databases as well as access to the Internet. In addition to providing dynamic services to complement and support local schools and other important community needs, the Chelsea District Library strives to present timely, interesting and high-quality programs and events to engage and enrich the Chelsea community.
