Meet Andrew, Your Friendly Network Administrator

Andrew JohanesenHi I'm Andrew, your friendly Network Administrator. I am originally from New Jersey and have lived in Michigan since 1995. I graduated from Washtenaw Community College with a degree in Computer Networking.

I have multiple certifications from Microsoft as well as other organizations. In my spare time I enjoy video and computer games, fishing and camping. My favorite book is Of Wolves and Men by Barry Lopez, which I still go back to reading even after all these years.  Currently I am reading The Wolves of Isle Royale: A broken balance, by Rolf Olin Peterson as it brings back memories of the week I spent visiting there camping and hiking and enjoying the wildlife. I enjoy working with the patrons and staff at the Chelsea District Library and look forward to seeing more of you in the coming year.

A couple of quick things you should know about your library card and account:

  • If you lose your card, please let us know immediately.  You are responsible for everything taken out on your card. If lost, we will mark your account so that the next time your card is used, we will ask for ID to verify that your card is not being used by anyone other than yourself.
  • Has your contact information changed? Please let us  know! This will ensure that all library notices continue to reach you.
  • The Chelsea District Library belongs to a co-op called The Library Network (TLN) which includes approximately 50 libraries.  Each library may have different fine amounts ,loan periods and renewal options. Please check your due date slip or online for when these items need to be returned.
  • We are able to include two email addresses for each library account. Have email notices go to home and work or to a parent and child's email.
  • Chelsea's feature DVDs and new video game collection only go out for one week. Fines are  $1.00 per day.
  •

  • Once an item is returned we no longer have a record of what you have checked out.  This is in compliance with the The Library Privacy Act 455 of 1982. If you are looking for ways to keep track of what you have read, try Goodreads. It's free!
  •

We hope this helps improve your library experience. As always, we welcome your feedback!
