Differences without Divisions

Differences without Divisions: Islam in America, a forum on tolerance of religious diversity, is planned for Martin Luther King Jr. Day on January 17 and will take place at the Library. Though the Library will be closed for business, the McKune Room will be open for the forum. A Young People's Forum will take place at 1:00pm and an Adult Forum at 7:00pm.   • Contemporary issues for Muslims living in America
  • A place for Muslims in the world today
  • American media representations of Islam and its practitioners
  • Islam and youth
  • The role of women in Islam
  • Islam and humanitarian service
  • The future of Islam and its role in America and the world

Waterworks @ McKune
Join the University of Michigan Natural History Museum in 3 science workshops all about water. On January 29 experience Water Wonders: What is water and what can it do? Water is the only thing on this planet that can exist in all 3 states (solid, liquid and gas) under normal conditions. How is this possible? We will build a water cycle in a bottle (20 oz. terrarium) and have fun with floating paperclips and pennies.  Register now!
