Intro to Comics Storytelling
Sunday, November 7 | 2:00-3:30pm | McKune Room
 How do you tell stories using comics? Is it simply learning to draw well, or is there more to it? In this hands-on workshop you will explore some of the key concepts of visual storytelling that will bring your characters and worlds to life. Cartoonist Jerzy Drozd, this year's Artist-in-Residence, will lead an interactive discussion demonstrating storytelling techniques used by masters of comics and manga. Afterwards you will be invited to try out these storytelling strategies for yourself! Materials will be provided, but students may bring their own pencils and sketchbooks.In partnership with Chelsea Center for the Arts. Register now!

Share your art, music and poetry on stage in the spacious McKune Room. Teens who register to perform will receive a reduction in library fines, and possible special credit from their teachers. Friends Book Sale & Silent Auction
Saturday, November 13 | 10:00am-3:00pm | McKune Room
 The upcoming used book sale will be the last sale of the year! Thousands of beautiful books, CDs, DVDs, ,audio books and other items are available for purchase. Proceeds from the sales are used to support the Library. Stop by the Friendly Book Cart, always available in the lobby for a great selection of "like-new" books at bargain prices. Silent Auction!The Chelsea District Library will be offering a few pieces of used furniture for sale via silent auction in November. The items will be on display at the Friends' Book Sale on Saturday, November 13th from 10:00am - 3:00pm in the library. Items include two wing back chairs, two small wood book cases, two colonial style maple end tables, one colonial style maple hall table, and several office chairs. Sealed bids will be accepted from Saturday, November 13 through Friday, November 19th, with all bids being opened on Monday, November 22nd . The highest bid wins the item.

The Chelsea District Library is nonprofit

of all people. The Library currently
serves 14,000 residents in the Chelsea district - City of Chelsea plus Dexter,
Lima, Lyndon and Sylvan townships and more than 20,000 individuals visit the
Library each month. The Library's

periodicals, DVDs, CDs, audiobooks, downloadable e-books, subscription
databases as well as access to the Internet.
