Presenting a Brand New Collection of Dragons (many with Castles)!
I've had many requests lately for dragons. And here they are! There are currently seven dragons shown on my website. Four of them are guarding their castles, as shown at right, in the front and back views of the same egg. Click here to go to the DRAGON DESIGNS PAGE of my site! |
A Father's Day Tribute to My Own Dad, Carl Traynor
My Dad Was A Clown - I'm not kidding, and I'm not clowning around. My DAD did the clowning around. My Dad, Carl Traynor, was a professional circus clown before he married my Mother Eileen. He toured with the Hagenbeck-Wallace Circus, a major big-top show that was later bought by Ringling Brothers. After marrying, Dad settled down to an accounting job in St. Louis, but when I was a young boy, he'd take some vacation days every year and sign on with the local Police and Shriners Circuses. These circuses featured many performers and clowns with whom Dad had worked on the H-W Circus, and oh how he loved being back in the fake nose and big shoes! I got to hang out in the clowns' dressing room, and sit along the sidelines while Dad performed. I believed it then, and I still know it:
He was one of the best! When he wasn't 'clowning around' Dad moonlighted as an actor in old time melodramas on St. Louis' historic Goldenrod Showboat, where he specialized in playing the dastardly villains, come to foreclose on the heroine's humble home. Dad and Mom both were accomplished, if nonprofessional, actors in St. Louis, playing widely varied roles in stage plays with the Southtown Players, a local Little Theater group. You ask why I wear a chicken on my head? I can only say, 'It comes naturally.' Click here to read more of The Egg Man's life! |
2010 is the Chinese Year of the Tiger There is an old Vietnamese folktale about "How the Tiger Got His Stripes." There are variations on this tale, but they tend to involve orange from flames and black from ropes that held the tiger. Not such a pretty story. Here is a much simpler depiction of a tiger getting his stripes!
