Following a 5,000 year-old tradition, Alison Ebata, Master of Acupuncture and Reiki, offers a variety of services that are designed to promote balance, thus allowing the normal flow of life energy or "Qi" throughout the body to restore health & well-being.
Ms. Ebata was born and raised on the Garden Island of Kaua'i in Hawai'i. As a young child, she learned the ancient arts of acupuncture and shiatsu as part of her maternal lineage's tradition. Being drawn to systems of energy, she began a 10-year career as an IBEW electrician as she continued to study her passion - the traditional arts of healing. She received her massage therapy license in 1986 from the Acupressure Institute in Berkeley. She later returned to Hawai'i and attended the Tai Hsuan College of Acupuncture and Herbal Medicine in Honolulu, becoming licensed in 1992. She became a Reiki Master in 1998, and started her wellness center, La'a Lani Kea, in 1999.
In pursuit of her passion and humanitarian work, Ms. Ebata has traveled to India three times to work as a volunteer acupuncturist for Tibetan refugees and went to Bodh Gaya in January 2002 where Ms. Ebata and her team administered more than 1,000 treatments over 2 weeks.
Ms. Ebata now offers the "Qi Technology" award winning EESystem at La'a Lani Kea (Hawai'ian for "sacred heavenly light"). |

The Kahala Hotel & Resort is spearheading a fundraising effort for The Calling program, a Hawaii based educational program that fouces on raising the island youth's environmental awareness and integrating Hawaiian indigenous wisdom with leading-edge technology to find solutions to environmental and social issues.
The Calling fundraising event will celebrate Hawaii's rich culture with chanting, singing, dancing and sharing knowledge. Some of the island's best chefs will be in attendance, with small bites donated local restaurants and The Kahala's own signature items created by their executive chef and his culinary team.
