Greetings!

My exercise class is back down to almost normal levels from its January high. So much for resolutions! Did you make any resolutions about becoming a better communicator and speaker? I hope you'll read the great list of questions written by Andrew Dlugan of the Six Minutes Blog.

Next, treat yourself to a Valentines Day to remember by taking good care of and loving yourself. Lana Culliver, a Women's Leadership Institute graduate and writer for the SFS Helping Women Lead and Inspire Blog shares some great advice and practical suggestions to take really good care of yourself.

What is VDAY? It is a global movement to end violence towards women. On February 23, I invite you to join us for an OUTRAGEOUS night of The Vagina Monologues a benefit performance for our Women's Leadership Institute.

Happy Valentines Day!

Is this Your Year to Become a Better Speaker?

By Dana Bristol-Smith

Andrew Dlugan writes the Six Minutes Public Speaking and Presentations Skills Blog He has compiled a list of 106 Blogs that cover public speaking. In January he published this list of questions. I suggest that you review the list and see how you measure up. You might also want to pick a couple of questions to focus on for your next presentation.

Is This the Year?

- Is this the year you conquer your fear?
- Is this the year you customize every presentation for the audience who will receive it?
- Is this the year you worry less about ums and ahs, and worry more about connecting with the audience?
- Is this the year you realize it's not the quantity of information conveyed, but the quality of how you convey it?
- Is this the year you eliminate the phrase continued here.

Happy Valentines Day to Me!

by Lana Z. Culliver

In the words of writer Oscar Wilde, "To love oneself is the beginning of a life long romance." And on that note, Happy Valentine's Day. While Valentine's Day is a day set aside for romantic love, this year try making it all about you. Pamper yourself, indulge yourself, and learn to love yourself a little more so that you are able to give as much love as you can to those you love and to the world in general.

What are some of the things you love about yourself? Today, one of the things I love most about me is my ability to see people for who they are, without society's continued here.
