Do's & Don'ts for a Successful Performance

As UIL contests approach, here is some tried and true advice regarding what the Conductor should and should not wear. The idea is to keep the focus on the student orchestras and away from the Conductor. Do not detract from your students' performance with your outfit! Men have it a little easier than women, but here are some ideas for both. Plan your UIL outfit many weeks in advance so you know exactly what you're going to wear. Make sure it's clean, and still fits.

Overall:

  • Please match your students' outfits, with the same color and general style. 

Tops:

  • Wear a jacket or a top that covers . . .

July 23-26 - TODA Annual Convention at the Henry B. Gonzalez Convention Center in historic San Antonio

March 12th - Renew/join TODA through our new on-line system at TODAweb.org (must be done BEFORE convention registration). Active membership for TODA is now $50.00.

(Or if you prefer, paper copies will be available for membership renewal and convention registration and can be downloaded from the website and sent to the TODA office for processing.)

April 9th - Register on-line at TODAweb.org for the Convention. Check out travel discounts on the website for American Airlines and AVIS Rent-a-Car.

 

Again this year: A free ticket for the July 24th TODA BBQ will be included with each Convention registration (additional tickets are $20).
