Just When You Thought
Just when you thought I had retired from blogging, I'm Back. It was a long time and I thought about blogging almost everyday, but my iPad found other things to do every day.
Here is a brief rundown of the last 14 days. Automobiles, Planes and Trains, Dinner at Chez Nash with Robert and Bonnie, Nancy and the Old Court Bed and Breakfast at Temple Cloud,
Douglas's Birthday Bash,
Moving Into Nash's Hillview Estate aka Nashville, to the Temple Cloud Dump,
to Coughton Court,
home of the Rockmorton's since 1650, dinner with an aide to Henry Kissinger (really) as well as Douglas's old partner, the grapefruit rituals of the Freemasons (Don't ask I will have to kill you), a trip to the river Wye in Wales along with a quick lunch, back to Chez Nash, get his BDay pictures uploaded on his computer, a marvelous meal prepared by chef Nash, watch the Cronin/Boone wedding video and cry like old woman during the vows, prepare Cronin special breakfast, head to the office for a visit, back to Nashville to walk the new Nash 9.5 acres purchased on July 17th
and have 15 Holstein Friesian Cattle confront you by the Cam Brook, convince Douglas to open a pub in Temple Cloud, work out for the 5 Olympic Events (more later) head to marvelous meal in a local high end pub, too many scotches before during and after dinner, sharing two Cuban cigars, calling wife after too many scotches (don't try this at home kids-only for professional drinkers), clean Doug's kitchen at 12:30 at night after too many scotches (am I detecting a theme?), slaughter 4 ruby grapefruits at 1:30 am and leave note for Douglas, have breakfast and have Douglas show me the note I do not remember writing, explain why four grapefruit were slaughtered in his sink last night, golf, come home and cook chicken parmesan and linguini Alfredo for Douglas and I, pack for short trip to Shendish Manor for Golf outing,
have a cup of tea (switched to tea after day too, Chez Nash must work on Coffee) more butchered grapefruit, toast and a perfect poached egg, on the road to Shendish Manor, dropped off luggage and clubs, picked up Mike and Patti, London and Heathrow is a graveyard- no one in sight eerily emptied, visit Shaw's Corner the stately home of George Bernard Shaw,
back to Shendish Manor and dinner with four Swedes (from Sweden, good friend Christer F.-the portly man with the white sweater 2nd from the right in the photo above), way to many stories about Russia and Wodka, breakfast with Mike, Patti, Douglas then to the course, Patti as caddy had a slow learning curve, she comfortably watched Mike loose about 6 golf balls, dinner at Shendish Manor for 16 folk from scuba industry and a couple of friends of Douglas, break with PADI people, industry people and then golf tournament for 65 industry folk, 19th hole celebration in the pub, cocktails at 7:00PM Banquet at 8:00,

present Mr. Douglas Nash with his 30 year PADI Plaque (a huge honor for yours truly),
close the bar at 11:30, breakfast then on the road to Tradegar House in Wales, a Manor built in the 1620 by the Morgan family,
back to Bristol to the amazing Ston Easton
and Check in Mike and Patti, rest and clean up for dinner at Stone Easton (amazing meal as usual), home to Chez Nash for more cigars and a few too many scotches, toast, poached egg, cheese, gather Mike and patti from Stone Easton, off to Wells Cathedral
and the Bishops Palace on Wells (circa 1350)
then off to Glastonbury,
then back to Ston Easton, dinner at the amazing Martini's in Bath,
back home, early pick up, automobiles, trains, planes, automobiles and home, THEN HANNA's.
