June/2012

We posted very late last night. It took a while to get the gist of the Supreme Court decision. For all of you Republican's who think our next President can sweep into office and reverse the health care bill, you will be disappointed again. Thank you Bob C., for the evaluation of not only the decision, but the technicalities of why any next President can not undo this mess. Short of a literal act of Congress, we own it now.

Today we had a few things to take care of around the house. We had our alarm guy come to do a check up on our system. It required the changing of about 24 batteries around the house. He suggested I do it myself to save some money. He dies not know me very well.

Despite my lack of abilities, I decided to try. I bought 26 AAA batteries and 12 AA batteries. Jack was with me and found it quite funny when we went to Home Depot and I asked a guy at the door where I could find their batteries. As soon as I asked I realized he was not an employee. The rest of the day, everywhere we went Jack would point to a customer and say, "Dad why don't you ask them where the paper plates are." He just thought he was really funny.

Then I moved furniture back in place as we had all our windows cleaned inside and out. That is stressful as I live with someone who knows to the linear millimeter where everything goes. I did my best but definitely missed the dining room table mark and was punished with looks that clearly said, "You are so lame."

Dennis and Jerene came over for home made sliders and corn of the cob. They surprised us with a beautiful Mangelsen Photo. It will be arriving in a couple of weeks.

My partners in crime at PADI also have an interest in a small chain of Outdoor Outfitting Equipment stores called Sportsman's Warehouse. Needless to say, bragging about my recent visit to a competing outfitter has got me in hot water as my partner's read my blog. In an effort to redeem myself, I bought a Nikon Range Finder scope (Told you I was working on it Terry.) and it should be arriving at my home in CA next week. I encourage all the readers to check out their website at http://www.sportsmanswarehouse.com/

Jack has really gotten the bug for fishing he has convinced me and Dennis to take him down the hill to American Fork, a small but quaint little stream about 20 minutes from the house. We will let you know how it goes.

In an effort to get to bed before 2:00 am, lets see how badly I misjudged this weeks performance.

News of a holistic agreement out of Europe made Mr. Market quite happy today. It took all indexes by surprise and boosted the NASDAQ 3%, the DOW 2.2% and the S&P 500 2.5%. For the week the market were up about 3%. We suggested the market would be down 4%.

In looking at the numbers and the volume (impressive), we have been delivered a very strong follow through day in the NYSE and the S&P 500. You know what that means, Monday morning, The IBD will be sporting a confirmed uptrend. Boys and Girls, we will fly the Green Flag in anticipation of this announcement.

Tomorrow (after fishing) I will be scanning this week's Barron's for more news. In the mean time, review your watch list and get your cash ready to deploy. This momentum and direction could be a decent rally though July's are not historically known for their strong performance.

Have a great weekend.

I am not a professional investment advisor. Anybody reading my blog and investing accordingly must be out of their minds. I have made more money than I have lost. There are many more qualified people than I to actually tell you how to invest your money.
