Running and Not Getting Anywhere
That is how I started my day(Thursday). It was that time to do my annual treadmill test. To my surprise and despite my best efforts to the contrary, all of my valves were pumping just fine and there is no apparent damage to the old heart muscle. In the sonogram we did see some pastrami and filet stuck to the walls of my heart with small pieces of goose liver. The doctor said it was nothing to worry about.
I spoke with the doctor about an article I read. It concerned a valveless artificial heart. Think of it like a little rotary engine in your chest. The cool thing is you would not have a blood pressure or pulse. See I would like that just to watch those thin fit people who jog in place on the corner feeling their carotid to get their pulse. Yeah, they'd be freakin out thinking they were dead. Then you could also see the arguments people who needed emergency care would have with their EMT. I can see it now. The EMT, would take your vitals and say, "Time of death is. . . " Then you would say, "No, I am not dead." Then the EMT would say, "Sorry, yes you are. No pulse, no BP, you are dead." Then you would say, "No, I am not dead." As they put you in the body bag. Then the EMT would say, "I see dead people." This could be fun. I guess they could tattoo a Mazda logo on your chest with a little sign that says, "Piston engine goes boing, boing, boing, boing.Mazda engine goes mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm." OMG I am getting old, look at the commercial.
Ellen arranged to meet me at the car dealership as they called and said I needed service on my car. I have had the car 13 months and have 8,834 miles on the vehicle. They thought the number was wrong, but I explained I only drive it to and from work. That is about 11 miles round trip. But I do like my car.
Then I had Ellen bring by my bagel shop as I was starved after having run on the tread mill for almost 7 minutes. Then it was to the salt mines and clean up the desk and the e-mails. Having arrived late it seemed silly to have lunch and after all it was only about an hour since I had my breakfast, we worked through lunch and waited for the exciting finish to the market today, z z z z z z z z z z z z z.
I made it home in time to go to the last Basketball game of the season and Jack got some decent playing time. We were playing against the Servite A team and the score did not reflect how well our guys were playing. We got clobbered. There some nice pictures taken of the team.

By the time we got back in our neighborhood, we picked up some dinner at the local Italian place and we all enjoyed the meal. (Veggie pizza with double garlic if you were wondering.)
This morning (Friday) Jack had no basketball practice and got to sleep in till 6.30AM. I had to get up early and clean up some portfolio faux paux's from one of our core holdings that went bad.
After getting Jack to school and doing some plastic surgery on the accounts, I decided to go for a swim. What a beautiful morning. The water was an almost too warm 84 and the air temp was about 70. As I did my stomach crunches looking up into the sky from the pool, I saw two beautiful hawks flying around our yard. All I could think was, "Where are the darn little dogs when you need them." Strap a piece of bacon on their backs and we would be down to 3 dogs. Another opportunity missed.
I picked up my car from the dealership. The did a great job on the detail and scratched the hell out of my leather seat on the driver side. The representative said, what would you like us to do because I don't want to get a bad report on my survey? I said, survey this! Ok, I didn't say that, but wanted to. The good news is my iPod is now working in my car and I have 3887 songs to choose from. I chose my CD first of course.
Tonight we are going to the movies, plural. That gorgeous brunette and her mom are going to see the Vow and Jack and I are going to see the Safe House. Its kinda cool going to a guy movie with your son. Until we leave, I got to figure out what went on in the market today.
