Welcome to the May 2012 edition of our e-newsletter.
It may still seem a bit cool outside but things are really starting to heat up at Take A Hike. All of our new spring fashions for men and women are on the floor, we have plenty of great gift ideas for Mother's Day, a special outdoor celebrity will joining us May 12th, plans for a Spring Yard Sale are coming together, and we'll be giving away free Explore magazines and tree seedlings this month.

Meet Authour, Paddler, Humourist - Kevin Callan May 11 DVD Release Party & May 12 Book Signing On May 12th at 7:00 pm join the Friends of Quetico at the Finlandia Club as author, paddler and humourist Kevin Callan, launches his new film "Wilderness Quest" about his canoe journey through Quetico in a search of wilderness. Packed with humourous scenes highlighting common canoe-tripping misadventures, this one hour film explores one of Canada's largest wilderness parks - viewing its changing environments, wildlife, remoteness and scenic splendor. In addition, Darryl Blazino will present the Top 10 Quetico Destinations. Tickets are $14 at the door. Advance tickets are $12 and available at Take A Hike. You're also invited to MEET KEVIN in person at TAKE A HIKE on SATURDAY MORNING from 10:00 am to 12:00 noon. We'll have Kevin's best selling books available including:

| Shop our Spring Yard Sale on May Street - May 26
ATTENTION BARGAIN HUNTERS! From 10:00 am to 1:00 pm on Saturday, May 26th at 111-1/2 May Street (between Victoria Avenue & Donald Street), we'll be clearing out all remaining fixtures, racks, cabinetry, decorati ons, carpets and odds and ends from our former store location.
We'll also have some new treasures to tempt you including brand new patio tables and chairs at greatly reduced prices.
A percentage of our sales from this event will be donated to the Thunder Bay Regional Multicultural Youth Association which operates a youth centre on Victoria Avenue. |
