Lang Vineyards
Marechal Foch
Lang Vineyards most popular red wine is the Marechal Foch. This hybrid red grape variety is named after the French marshal Ferdinand Foch, who played an important role in the negotiation of the armistice terms during the end of WWI.
In the glass it is a very dark purple hued wine and on the nose you get deep, rich, red berry tones. On first sip the wine is fruit forward on the palette with a mellow and smooth structure, with hints of dark berries and maybe even a little chocolate and coffee undertones. Fermented in stainless steel, it is light to medium in body and can be enjoyed with food or on its own. It would pair well with roast chicken or Pork.
I really enjoyed this wine and think it would be a great wine to have on hand for the holidays or to bring as a hostess gift.
